About the Dallas Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys are looking to get back into the playoffs, like they tasted last season. The team has successfully gone through a mini youth movement and, over the last two seasons, dumped players long in the tooth. Gone from seasons past are Terrell Owens (replaced by Austin), Anthony Henry and Pacman Jones (replaced by Mike Jenkins), Greg Ellis (replaced by Anthony Spencer). This offseason was no different as Flozell Adams and Ken Hamlin have been replaced by Doug Free and Alan Ball.
So what does all this mean? Well, it means that the Cowboys are again poised for another 11-5 season or better. In the draft, the Cowboys picked up much talked about receiver Dez Bryant. If the team is worried about the movement, the head coach surely isn’t. "You try to get your best guys on the field," Cowboys coach Wade Phillips said. "It doesn’t matter what age they are or what year they are, if they’re your best athlete or your best player, you try to get them on the field. Experience means a lot in some cases, but ability means the most."
All in all, the Dallas Cowboys are entering this 2010 season with a desire to defend their NFC East title and take last year’s successful season of 11-5 into Super Bowl contention in 2010 which will be played in Cowboys Stadium. With one of the best offenses in the league along with a bolstered defense, and the next Super Bowl at home, the Dallas Cowboys certainly look like the team to beat.
